Our Positive Psychology course
In our one-day course we take the time to discuss these things.
We also look at some of the powerful evidenced based Positive Psychology techniques actually help us thrive. We also explore how to embed these techniques at home and work.
Who the course is for?
This course is an introduction to positive psychology. You might be an experienced educator, a psychologist, work in healthcare, coaching or in industry. No previous experience of personal development courses is required.
Our courses often attract a wide variety of people with different life experiences, careers and expectations. We welcome this. Over the years we have found that beautiful conversations and learning emerge as we explore the world of positive psychology with a diverse group.
You can add as little or as much to the conversation as you like. Some people want to absorb the information quietly and soak up the wisdom of others in the group, whilst others love to share their experience. It’s up to you. We provide tools, frameworks and techniques and between us we explore how to become more resilient, optimistic, calm and balanced.
By the end of the day you will have a more nuanced understanding of positive psychology and how to practically bring the techniques to life and incorporate them into your life roles, whatever they may be.
Where and when
The course is limited to 12 people and is held at the Live and Breathe Yoga studio on Denham Street in Townsville. It is the second stand-alone module on our six session (one day workshops) intensive mindfulness course.

I’m a former corporate financier with KPMG in Sydney and London. In 2002 I took a whole new direction and re trained in many different areas of wellbeing.
In 2006 I took a masters in Applied Positive Psychology at the University of East London and also at the Centre for Applied Positive Psychology at Warwick University. Since then I’ve taught hundreds of Positive Psychology workshops around the world. My first was in the House of Commons in the UK in 2007 and my last was at CQ University in December in Townsville
I lecture in mindfulness at James Cook and own two wellbeing centres back in London, based in Waterloo and Covent Garden
